SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 3:1-2, 6

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is both God’s ambassador to man and man’s representative to God.

Dear Father, I join the writer of Hebrews in fixing my thoughts on Jesus, the only Apostle and High Priest. I praise Jesus that He is faithful to the One (You) Who sent Him to earth as apostle (ambassador) to proclaim all You are (like Moses was to the Old Testament Jewish people, but far superior to Moses). I also praise Jesus that He is completely faithful as high priest in all ways of pleading our causes before You (like Aaron, the Old Testament high priest, but far superior to Aaron). I rejoice that Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest, perfectly combines and fulfills both of those offices. I pray You will help me and all His other followers today to learn all we can from, and submit wholly to, the blessed Apostle and High Priest. And, please compel us to continually confess His greatness to one another, and hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast in Him. I pray these things in His holy name. Amen
