SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 3:14-16, 18-20

“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is all there is of God’s truth. There can be no more of truth than what He says and Who He is.

Dear Father, I exalt Christ that He gave Himself the title, the Amen, in this last letter to the churches. I praise Him for His pledge that all His words and revelations are the most true and trustworthy that can possibly be, especially compared to the lukewarmness and other deficiencies of those churches. I am so grateful that there is nothing more that can be said about You and Your kingdom beyond what He says and reveals. I again marvel at the authority and faithfulness of the Amen that Paul wrote about in 2 Corinthians 1:18-22, “But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not ‘Yes’ and ‘No.’ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not ‘Yes’ and ‘No,’ but in him it has always been ‘Yes.’ For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” I pray You will help me and all believers become on fire to know all the Amen is, and to “stand firm” in Him. In His name I pray these things. Amen.
