SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 21:1-3, 5a, 6-7

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the full spectrum of godliness.

Dear Father, I rejoice that although what Jesus says in this passage and in all of Revelation is for the future, it will all happen with all certainty because You and Jesus have said it will happen. Thus, “It is done!” Hallelujah, that You and Jesus are trustworthy, true and unchangeable (Godly)! I also rejoice that today’s name of Jesus, the Alpha and the Omega, uses the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, which confirms that He has been God for all eternity past, and will be God for all eternity future. I praise Jesus that there is nothing before Him, beyond Him, after Him or in addition to Him, so that I and all people who believe in Him as Savior can be certain that we will soon inherit all He is and all of His kingdom. It is so reassuring to know that all Your promises to the thirsty, including in Isaiah 55:1, are ultimately fulfilled in the Alpha and Omega: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” Please convince me and all other believers today to wholeheartedly delight in Jesus, “the richest of fare,” in Whose name I pray these things. Amen.
