Our Guide Even to the End

Like your name, O God,
your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
your right hand is filled with righteousness.
Mount Zion rejoices,
the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments.
Walk about Zion, go around her,
count her towers,
consider well her ramparts,
view her citadels,
that you may tell of them
to the next generation.
For this God is our God for ever and ever;
he will be our guide even to the end.
Dear Father, It is a great joy to continue praising Christ, now focusing on Him as our Guide Even to the End. Thank You for the blessed assurance of knowing that He is the perfect Person to guide me (lead me, control the course of my life, supervise and instruct me, direct my steps, and advise and influence me) and all other people who receive Him as their Savior and Lord. How privileged we are to be under the infallible guidance of the One Who is fully God and fully man! I honor Him that He knows everything; He is all powerful; He has experienced all I will ever experience (and more); He loves me completely; He paid the price for my eternal life; He prays for me continually; and I will be with Him forever. I praise Him that, not only is He the Guide of His people until death, but He guides us THROUGH death to resurrection as the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:54b, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” I pray that You will help us become completely devoted to following the Guide Even to the End, just as He said in John 5:19 that He followed You: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” I pray these things in His wise name. Amen.
