Jesus is…
One Lawgiver and Judge

Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
Dear Father, Thank You that Jesus is the ultimate Lawgiver and Judge for me and all mankind. I praise Him that He is the great Legislator of the Church, Who alone has the right to give laws (precepts, teachings, commands and promises) for His people to live by. I rejoice that in and through Him is all Your truth, justice, wisdom, knowledge, righteousness, repentance, discipline and revelation necessary for guiding and blessing our lives. I am grateful for other Scripture passages that clearly confirm Jesus is the One Who is able to save and destroy, like it says in Matthew 10:28, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” I especially love King David’s devotion to Your laws in all of Psalm 119, and I pray that You will help me and Your whole Church to obey the spirit of verses 1-2, “Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.” I pray that as we know the Lawgiver and Judge more, we will not judge our brothers and sisters, but will help each other live in His ways. I ask these things in the name of Jesus, the giver and perfector of all justice and truth. Amen.
