SCRIPTURE READING:
John 20:26-29

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST deserves the highest reverence and belief of His people.

Dear Father, I say “Hallelujah” that Thomas did not need to put his hand in Jesus’ side to immediately be certain of the divinity of Jesus when he was in Jesus’ presence after His resurrection. I rejoice in the powerful revelation of the glory of Jesus that compelled Thomas to exclaim to Jesus, “My Lord and My God.” I honor Jesus that He has always been Lord and God of all creation, and that You opened Thomas’ understanding of that truth. I rejoice that Thomas finally believed in his heart and mind what John declared in John 1:14a, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” I pray that Your Spirit will so thoroughly reveal the greatness of Jesus to all the Body of Christ today that we too will exclaim “My Lord and My God” to Him. I pray also that You will cleanse us of all unbelief, and that an unprecedented groundswell of awakening, belief, awe and reverence of Jesus will fill us. I pray that with great hope we will tell the lost people around us that they too must know and believe in our Lord and our God. In His most worthy name I ask these things. Amen.
