SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 13:5-6
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the truest companion to mankind.
Dear Father, Thank You that Jesus completely fulfills this promise of Yours (found also in Psalm 118) to be the Helper (provider, protector, guide, encourager and refuge) of all who trust in Him. I am very grateful there is nothing in my life that is too big or too small for His help. I praise Jesus that He has ALL power, wisdom, understanding, goodness, mercy, grace, and love, and is always with me. I rejoice that not only will He not forsake me, but that He cannot forsake me. Again, I am reminded of His promise in Mathew 28:20b, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” I pray that I and all other followers of Christ will devote ourselves to knowing Him so well that we completely trust Him in all circumstances, thank Him at all times, and worship Him continually. Thank you that His perfect love drives out all fear (1 John 4:18). I also pray that we will give every part of our lives to Him, pray regularly for His rule and reign over our lives, and always speak to each other about His magnificence. Please help us to constantly abide in Jesus, the Helper. I pray these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
