SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 15:1-4
I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed. And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the universal King over all people in every era of history.
Dear Father, I rejoice with the transfigured saints in heaven who will one day proclaim that the beast is not the king of the earth, but that Jesus, the Lord God Almighty, is the One Who has always been, and always will be, just and true in all His ways. He is THE King of the Nations! As I think of some of the other terms that, throughout the ages, have been associated with kingly authority and dominion--Majesty, Monarch, Lord, Sovereign, Emperor, Magistrate, Governor, Ruler and many more--I exalt Jesus that He is the completeness of all those names, titles and ranks! I pray that as it will happen at the end of the ages, Your Spirit will clearly reveal the King of the Nations’ many righteous acts and judgments today, so that I, the Church and countless numbers of unbelievers will acknowledge His authority, fear Him, submit to His holiness, and give all glory to Him. May all who are proud and in rebellion of the great King, repent and humble themselves before Him. All hail King Jesus! I pray these things in His holy name. Amen.
