SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 19:11-16
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the incomparably supreme ruler over every king and kingdom.
Dear Father, I am in great anticipation as I read about the Lord Jesus Christ one day leading the armies of heaven with a sharp sword coming out of His mouth to strike down nations, and of His ruling the nations with an iron scepter, and inflicting Your wrathful judgments on the evil of the earth. I praise Christ that those who have received Him as their Savior will unite under His leadership, be strengthened and protected by Him, and be cleansed by His righteousness and truth, as they march with Him into His great and final conquest of the forces of evil! All glory to Him that in this war He will demonstrate ALL the attributes and powers of the incomparable, unprecedented, unconquerable and forever-ruling, supreme KING OF KINGS! I bow before the KING OF KINGS that this name will be on His robe and thigh, as the name that most boldly proclaims His glorious conquests (like earthly kings often have done when they conquered their adversaries). I pray that right now You will convince me and all other believers of the matchless majesty of the KING OF KINGS, so we will worship Him and devote ourselves to His rule over every part of our lives. I pray these things in the name of my King. Amen.
