SCRIPTURE READING:
1 John 2:1-3

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the only one Who is wholly righteous.

Dear Father, I am filled with gratitude that when I and other believers sin, we have One Who speaks to the Father in our defense. Without a doubt, He is Jesus (the Savior) Christ (the Messiah), the Righteous One. I praise Jesus Christ that He is our righteous defender and advocate: the only sinless and totally Righteous One, Who gave His life for us, sits at Your right hand, and constantly intercedes with You for us. All glory to Jesus! I am deeply in awe that He does not try to conceal our sins or claim we have not sinned, but He fully admits our guilt before You, then pleads for and obtains our full pardon based upon His righteousness. I rejoice that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One is Your Son in Whom You are well pleased. I pray that I and a rapidly growing number of Christians in all cities and nations today will become as Peter, John and the other disciples were when they recognized that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God,” and submitted themselves to living in His righteousness. Oh, may we come to know Him so well that we always keep his righteous commands. I pray these things with all hope in the name of Jesus. Amen.
