He Who Is Coming

SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 10:36-38
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, Who is the grand and ultimate subject of all prophetic vision, will soon come and fulfill all prophecy.
Dear Father, This name of Christ gives me abounding hope. I rejoice that Jesus is He Who is Coming, Who alone ultimately fulfills Your prophecy in Habakkuk 2:3, “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” I hold on to a number of related New Testament Scriptures including Christ’s promise in Luke 21:25-28 that seems increasingly appropriate to our time in history: “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Glory to Jesus that He will soon come back to earth from heaven with power to judge the world and give His people our final deliverance. Please help me and all other believers to devote ourselves to knowing all about He Who is Coming so that we will be able to persevere in righteous faith. “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
