SCRIPTURE READING:
Luke 3:3-6

He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.’”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the unobstructed deliverer from heaven.

Dear Father, I am forever grateful that You have removed all the obstacles (prepared the way) for Jesus, God’s Salvation, to come into the world to save me and the rest of mankind from our sins, and to rule and reign over our lives forever. I praise Jesus that He fulfills the Old Testament prophecy of Isaiah 40:5 that is quoted in today’s Scripture, and another related prophecy in Isaiah 52:10, “The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.” I desire to see and know all of Jesus, the blessed One Who brought Your salvation to me and to all people. I earnestly pray that You will help believers everywhere to see the greatness of our Savior as the Apostle Paul prays for the Church of Ephesus and us in Ephesians 1:17-19, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him [Jesus] better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” I further pray that You will do whatever is necessary in many millions of lost people that they might very soon see (with their eyes and with their spirits) and give their lives to God’s Salvation. In His merciful name I pray these things. Amen.
