Jesus is…
God’s Dwelling Place

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Dear Father, I remember that, in ancient times, Your glory “tabernacled” or dwelled with Your people. I rejoice that, for more than the past 2000 years, all of Your fullness has dwelt in Your precious Son, Jesus. I delight that the Person of Jesus is God’s Dwelling Place. I can only imagine how marvelous it will be on the day (and forever after) when those of us who have received Him as our Savior will live with Him face-to-face. How wonderful it already is that the all-sufficient, all-mighty, all-majestic God’s Dwelling Place acknowledges us as His people today, and that soon there will be no time or space between us living totally in His presence, protection, provision and care. I pray that Your Spirit will reveal the vastness of God’s Dwelling Place to me and His other followers everywhere, so that we will give ourselves to knowing Him more, cherishing Him, honoring Him, exalting Him, revering Him, abiding in Him, speaking constantly of Him to one another, and praying for His kingdom to come and His will to be done. I pray these things in the name of the One through Whom I intimately know You. Amen.
