SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 4:2-3

In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST produces a fruitful people for the glory of God.

Dear Father, I marvel that by being the Fruit of the Land, Jesus’ body came out of the earth as a man to fulfill all the purposes of the beautiful, glorious Branch of the Lord. He is the super-abundant, fragrant, lush, and sacrificial provider of all physical and spiritual goodness for His people. I rejoice that there are many references in the Bible to Your complete provision for Your people (ultimately through Jesus). One of my favorites is Ezekiel 34:23-27, “I will place over them [the people of Israel] one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken. I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of savage beasts so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety. I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.” I pray that I and all believers will be overwhelmingly grateful for all You give us in the Fruit of the Land, and that we will have an insatiable hunger to be filled with Him only. May He be our “pride and glory” at all times. I pray these things in His blessed name. Amen.
