SCRIPTURE READING:
Revelation 1:4b-6

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a] before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, raised from the dead, is the proof and promise of a resurrection of all saints.

Dear Father, I am grateful that Jesus Christ is the Firstborn From the Dead. I praise You that while other people, like Lazarus, rose from the dead to die again, You raised Christ from His death on the cross to die no more. I am thankful for the powerful explanation of this truth in Acts 13:32-37, “We tell you the good news: What God promised our ancestors he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are my son; today I have become your Father.’ God raised him from the dead, so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said, ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’ So it is also stated elsewhere: ‘You will not let your holy one see decay.’ Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed. But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.” I rejoice that because Jesus Christ, Your Son, is the Firstborn From the Dead, I and all people who receive Him as our Savior are Your sons and daughters and will one day rise from the dead with Him. Please strongly convict us to share this good news very soon with the many people in our lives who are currently lost and dying without Him. In His name I pray these things. Amen.
