SCRIPTURE READING:
Colossians 3:1-4, 11, 16-17

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST surrounds everything, and, at the same time, He is the center of all there is.

Dear Father, I am eternally grateful that Christ is All, and is in All. I can’t comprehend the immensity of Him being All (totally surrounding and encompassing all creation) and at the same time being in the center/DNA/core of All. I worship Christ that there is nothing outside of His rule and reign and power. All things are by Him, for Him, through Him, to Him, in Him, and on and on. Nothing is too difficult for Him, and all things are possible through Him. His love never ends, never diminishes, is unconditional, and does not favor one person over another. All life, hope, peace, grace and mercy are in Him. He never leaves nor forsakes. He is all-holy, righteous and good. All glory is His. All majesty, honor, reverence, adoration, worship, devotion are due Him. He is light and revelation. Greater is He Who is in us than he who is in the world. I think of one of the phrases in Bishop Lockridge’s poem-sermon about the greatness of Christ: “I wish I could describe Him to you! He is indescribable. He’s irresistible, and He’s invincible.” I pray that the longing to know the depths of Christ (Who) is All, and is in All will be the greatest passion of my life, and the Church everywhere, and that You will help us abandon every other passion for Him. In the name of Christ, my All, I pray these things. Amen.
