Jesus is…
Chosen Before the Creation of the World

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
Dear Father, I rejoice that You predetermined before the creation of the world that Jesus would be the atoning Sacrifice for my sin and all other people. Thank You that Your beloved Son is the only One Who could be Chosen Before the Creation of the World, not as an afterthought or as a way to resolve some-thing that went wrong with people after creation, but as a part of Your original plan for us. I don’t fully understand all this “mystery,” but I am very glad You have always had a perfect plan (through the perfect Person) for our redemption, and that You revealed Him, and raised Him from the dead and glorified Him “in these last times” for our sake. I think of what Paul says in Ephesians 1:4-6, “For he [God] chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Thank You, Father, for choosing Him to be our Savior. I pray that You will continually remind me and all other believers of the great-ness of the One Who was Chosen Before the Creation of the World, so our faith and hope in Him will always be growing and unwavering. I ask these things in the name of the Chosen One. Amen.
