SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 4:2-3

In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, risen from the dead, has become like a sapling growing tall and filling the earth with Himself.

Dear Father, I am saddened that in today’s Scripture passage You had to warn the people of Israel of the coming day of judgment for their disobedience of You. But, I rejoice that You were also reminding them that the Branch of the Lord (or the Branch of Jehovah), Who is a descendent of King David, would come to those who escaped Your wrath. I am glad that the people of Israel knew that the Branch of the Lord would be the Messiah. I am eternally grateful that He was willing to sacrifice Himself on the cross, and that You raised Him from the dead, to grow into a strong new tree of righteousness, that would fill the earth with life in Himself. I praise Jesus that He was the hope of those who were left as the remnants in Zion, and that He is my strong hope, and the hope of the world. I exalt Him as the source of all life. Please help me and the whole Church to live in total dependence upon Him, and to be faithful conduits of His beauty, glory and all the rest of who He is, to one another and to all the people around us who are currently “life-less” without Him. Oh, I pray that You will do whatever is necessary in their hearts and minds to cause them to become grafted onto the Branch of the Lord. I ask these things in His holy name. Amen.
