Jesus is…
A Wall of Fire

While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.’
Dear Father, I rejoice that Your Church (the “Jerusalem”) is so large and inclusive that there is plenty of room for all the people who choose to receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord. I am grateful that He makes it possible for His Church to have no manmade walls or limits to its number of inhabitants, yet we are as safe as if we had the very strongest of walls because He is a Wall of Fire around us. I praise Jesus that He is the all-powerful and insurmountable protection against all our enemies, and that He consumes and purifies all darkness and sin for those who are within Him. I exalt the Wall of Fire that all of His promises, prayers, teachings, commands and works surround us and can consume us. May we join today in the prophet’s praise in Isaiah 26:1-3, “In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: ‘We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.’” I pray that the whole Church of today will be hungry to know the whole Christ, and we will steadfastly trust Him as the supreme Wall of Fire around every part of our lives. Oh, may we be filled with His glory. I earnestly pray that great numbers of lost people will begin running to live in Him. I pray these things in Jesus’ glorious name. Amen.
