Matthew 13:44
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is like an unexpected discovery of the greatest value.
Dear Father, I know that today’s Scripture verse is focusing on the kingdom of heaven being like a treasure hidden in a field, but I am in awe that the kingdom of heaven is completely dependent upon Jesus. So, I delight in knowing that He is the ultimate Treasure Hidden in a Field. In fact, I praise Him that He is the greatest Treasure of all time. Thank You that You helped me find Him, and that Your Spirit is continually revealing the incomparable treasure of His Person and His kingdom to me. I want to treasure the Lord Jesus with all my heart as He instructed His followers in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” I confess that I often give my time and affections to “treasures” other than Jesus. I pray that You will help me, my family members and all other believers to joyfully sell (give up) all we have, so we can give ourselves wholly to the Treasure Hidden in a Field. At the same time, would You please admonish us to no longer hide the wonderful Treasure from the unsaved, but to proclaim all He is to everyone You bring into our lives. May the Treasure (that has been) Hidden in a Field up until now, be on the hearts, minds and lips of all people, here and around the world. I pray these things in the treasured name of Jesus. Amen.
