SCRIPTURE READING:
Psalm 61:1-5

Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is God’s promised impregnable stronghold for all who dwell in Him.

Dear Father, I praise Jesus that He has all the strength, power and might, as well as all the love, of the Godhead. I rejoice that Jesus has consistently been the refuge of all people who come to Him for shelter and protection. He is the supreme life-giver and life-sustainer. I exalt the omnipotent Jesus that He consistently demonstrates that He alone is the Strong Tower Against the Foe. I think of His immeasurable strength to separate the sky, land and seas; His strength to raise up mountains and carve out great valleys; His strength to keep the sun, moon and all the stars in their perfect orbits; His strength to push back the waters of the Red Sea; His strength to command heaven’s armies to permanently defeat Satan and his forces; and countless other ways He rules His creation by His strength. I marvel at how Jesus surrounds His people as a tower surrounds its inhabitants. I praise Him that we are encircled by Him with all comfort, safety, peace and security against the enemy. I praise Jesus that He can see all advancements from our foes, just as a person who stands high in a tower has an excellent view of what is happening around him. I pray that You will continually remind me and all believers to dwell in the Strong Tower Against the Foe, and to invite everyone else we know to join us. I pray these things in Jesus’ strong name. Amen.
