SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 10:19-23
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the only pathway to eternal life.
Dear Father, I know that the “old way” of the High Priest once a year bringing the blood of sacrificed animals into the Most Holy Place only temporarily cleansed the people of Israel’s sins. So, I heartily rejoice that You sent Jesus to earth as the only way, the New and Living Way, through Whom I and all man-kind can receive permanent forgiveness of the penalty of our sins. I am immediately reminded of what Jesus said about Himself in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” I praise Jesus that He is not only the new (and perfectly improved) way for our eternal redemption, but He is the living way: He is alive forevermore; in Him is abundant life; He came that all people might be saved; and His blood is ever-flowing and limitless. Please often remind me and all other believers of John 1:4, “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind,” and cause us to thank and praise the New and Living Way constantly for all He is and for the confidence we have to enter the Most Holy Place by His blood. I pray these things in His life-assuring name. Amen.
