SCRIPTURE READING:
1 Peter 1:18-21
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
Dear Father, Thank You profusely that Christ gave His most precious blood, as the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29b)! I praise Christ that since He is totally pure in Himself (without blemish) and untouched by any form of sin (without spot or defect), His blood, which has inestimable value, pays the entire penalty for my sin and the sin of all people. All glory to the beloved Lamb Without Blemish or Defect. I pray You will give me an unceasing desire to know everything I possibly can about the Lamb Without Blemish or Defect and all the other names, attributes, characteristics and works of Christ. Please help me to value Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength, and to speak of His wonders to all other believers You bring into my life. He is our blessed hope! I pray Your Spirit will open the hearts of throngs of unbelievers to their crucial need to know and receive the Lamb Without Blemish or Defect as their Savior and Lord. I ask these things in His redemptive name. Amen.
