Jesus is…
A Horn of Salvation

His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn[a] of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant, the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
Dear Father, I rejoice in Zechariah’s proclamation (from the Holy Spirit) that in the incarnation of Jesus You were fulfilling ancient prophesies of raising up a Horn of Salvation, (a Mighty Savior or the “strength of salvation),” in the house of David to save His people from their physical and spiritual enemies. I praise Jesus that He is the great Protector (King) of His people, Who defends us from the destructive works of the enemy of our souls. I am eternally grateful that we are delivered by His mighty salvation. I remember Psalm 18:2, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” I praise Jesus that He alone fits all those characteristics, and exceedingly more. I pray that I and a groundswell of other believers will abandon our lives now to the Horn of Salvation, so that He will bring unprecedented revival, awakening, protection, righteousness and salvation to His Church and to all people. He is our Hope. May we “serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.” I pray these things in His mighty name. Amen.
