SCRIPTURE READING:
Hebrews 10:19-23

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the royal mediator through Whom His people have access to God.

Dear Father, I am very thankful You have given me and all other believers a Great Priest Over the House of God (His whole Church on earth). I worship Him as He was foretold in Zechariah 6:12-13, “Tell him [Joshua] this is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the LORD. It is he who will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.’” I praise Jesus that as the Great Priest Over the House of God, He is the greatest and most royal Priest and King over His people. I rejoice that His righteous blood opened the curtain (veil) for us to draw near to You “with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.” Please help us, Lord, to “hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” This hope causes me to sing the wonderful words written in “My Hope is Built” by Edward Mote: “My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. (chorus) On Christ the solid Rock I stand, All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand. (verse 3) His oath, His covenant, His blood, Support me in the whelming flood. When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay.” I pray all these things in the name of the Great Priest Over the House of God. Amen.
