SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 9:2-4

The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as warriors rejoice
when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian’s defeat,
you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders,
the rod of their oppressor.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST has penetrated this dark world with the light of the glory of God.

Dear Father, I give the Lord Jesus Christ all praise that He enlightens people who are walking in the darkness of sin and hopelessness, like the people of Israel who were living under the darkest misery of captivity by becoming their Great Light of salvation and freedom. I rejoice that Jesus is THE Light that consumes and dispels the darkness. I honor Him, that no other power can put out or diminish His brightness. I thank You that today, all people who are without the Great Light can come to Him anytime, to receive Him as their Light, to allow Him to cleanse them of all darkness, and to live in the fullness of His joy. I want to live in the brilliance, glory, holiness and victory of the Great Light. I pray that You will help me and an increasing number of other believers to live so much in Jesus, living in all of the Great Light, that we will continually reflect Him to one another and to every unsaved person You bring into our lives. Oh, my Father, may we all see the Great Light, and may light dawn here and now as never before. Let there be Light! I pray these things in Christ’s transforming name. Amen.
