A God of Justice

SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 30:15-18
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.
You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses.’
Therefore you will flee!
You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.’
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!
A thousand will flee
at the threat of one;
at the threat of five
you will all flee away,
till you are left
like a flagstaff on a mountaintop,
like a banner on a hill.”
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST enacts perfect justice for His people.
Dear Father, I am very grateful that You gave Your beloved Son Jesus the authority to judge the world, as He states in His teaching in John 5:27, “And he [the Father] has given him [the Son] authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.” Thank You that Jesus has all Your knowledge, wisdom, under-standing, patience, truth, love, grace, mercy and righteousness to know everything there is to know about every person and circumstance, and to render perfect justice with perfect timing. I exalt Jesus that He is the God of Justice, and that He desires to be gracious, compassionate, merciful, just, good and wise with all people, without preference to anyone. I praise Him that the judgments He makes are all in accordance with all Scripture, and are to draw all people to the fullness of righteousness in Him. I praise Jesus that His motives in enacting justice are always pure; He is never disinterested or busy elsewhere; and His plans and purposes are always for our highest and best, and for His great glory. Please help me and all His people to know how great and just He is, and to wait for Him with every part of our lives. May the God of Justice bring full justice to the Church and to all people around the world. In His blessed name I pray these things. Amen.
