David Bryant and Proclaim Hope!

David Bryant is a longtime Christian pastor, author, and speaker whose life’s work has centered on calling the Church to a deeper, more wholehearted devotion to Jesus Christ.

Over several decades of ministry, he has become widely known for his emphasis on what he currently defines as an “American Christ Awakening,” a renewed vision of the supremacy and present reign of Christ meant to transform individual believers, the broader Church, and the entire nation. David defines a Christ Awakening movement as “the whole Church becoming wholly alive to the whole person of the whole Christ.”

His leadership today is most visibly expressed through Proclaim Hope! Founded in 2000, this ministry is devoted to helping Christians across the United States rediscover the preeminence of Christ in every dimension of faith and life.

Proclaim Hope! exists to inspire, mobilize, and serve. It is focused on what Bryant sees as the critical need within contemporary Christianity: a recovery of an expansive, Scripture-shaped vision of who Jesus is right now. Rather than primarily target programs, politics, or cultural debates, the ministry seeks to reorient believers around the person, power, and purposes of the living, reigning Lord Jesus Christ himself.

Through writing, teaching, media outreach, and live events, Bryant encourages Christians to experience not only correct doctrine about Christ but also vibrant devotion and active participation in his mission.

Currently, his most ambitious initiative is the Nationwide Campaign for an American CHRIST Awakening. It’s goal is to wake up a multitude of Jesus followers across America to the sovereignty and supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ, transforming our churches and the soul of our nation.

In addition, since 2015, one major extension of this effort is ChristNow.com, a one-of-a-kind online platform offering extensive free resources, including video series, articles, and structured teaching experiences designed to help individuals and congregations grow in their understanding of Christ’s supremacy. Also, through social media, they are reaching tens of thousands of people each day with their messages about the transforming wonders of Jesus.

One key training tool, for example, is David’s professionally produced nine-session course called The Christ Institutes Video Series (TCIVS). However, David Bryant’s broader ministry journey stretches back more than half a century. He began in pastoral ministry, then later served as a minister-at-large with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, where he developed a passion for spiritual renewal among students and leaders. His calling increasingly focused on prayer movements and corporate spiritual awakening.

Throughout these roles, Bryant has consistently emphasized—and still does—that lasting transformation in the Church and society must flow from a fresh encounter with the living Christ.

As an author, David Bryant has expanded his message through blog posts, training tools, and numerous books that explore prayer, personal renewal, national awakening, and the glory of Christ. Among these are Christ Is NOW! (2015) and Christ Is ALL! (2004)—both of which call readers to recognize the present, active reign of Jesus and his all-encompassing significance.

His most recent book, The Hour Has Come (2026), is accompanied by nearly 90 teaching video clips. It brings to its apex his vision for how an American CHRIST Awakening can win the battle for the soul of our nation.

Personally, David and his wife Robyne—his invaluable collaborator in every facet of their mission—reside in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area and are the parents of three grown children adopted as babies from India.

From start to finish, David Bryant’s life, leadership, message, and ministry have been marked by this one overriding burden: He has sought to stir up the Church to fully engage both with its greatest need and with its highest calling—which is not merely to defend Christian values, win culture wars, or maintain religious structures. Its preeminent goal is to see every Christian captivated by the greatness and grace of God’s Son—to behold, proclaim, and joyfully live under the supremacy and fullness of the lordship of Jesus Christ.
