PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
and for an
American CHRIST Awakening

History is about to be made! As you know, the first debate between President Biden and former President Trump is scheduled on Thursday, June 27.
Surely, if there’s ever a time to pray together, it is now!
As I host this time of prayer, I firmly believe that this Zoom gathering provides a unique way for Christians across the country to impact this defining event together as we earnestly pray for America to turn wholeheartedly to Christ—the HOPE no president can fulfill for a nation in such desperate need!
In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, the Apostle Paul implores us to do no less than this. He calls Christians to pray for political leaders to experience the active presence of the Kingdom so that the gospel might spread and many come to our Redeemer.
This will be our focus for prayer.
Therefore, on June 27, the day of the presidential debate, guided by the Holy Spirit, we will pray:
- Candidates. That a Christ-focused, spiritual revolution will impact the lives of BOTH candidates—that they experience a new encounter with our living Savior
- Reconciliation. That their surrender to the lordship of Jesus would result in reconciliation with each other—and that the spirit of reconciliation might spread across our nation, coming from hearts turned toward the Lord Jesus Christ
- Revelation. That the Holy Spirit would use the debate to reveal to viewers how desperately our country needs a moral and spiritual renaissance—as God uses the exchanges of both candidates to help Americans confront the truth about our broken condition as a people
- Conversion. That these spiritual insights will lead many to discover that the saving lordship of God’s Son provides a glorious way out of the quagmire we’re in so they will turn to him in a Christward revival
- Leaders. In addition, that God-fearing men and women would be raised up to sit on our courts and serve in our legislatures and Congress
- Awakening. That behind, under, in, and through all we ask—as the prime source for the answers to all we ask—an American CHRIST Awakening would emerge and that it would begin among and be manifested by God’s people from coast to coast
