A MIGHTY PRAYER
FOR RENEWING OUR DEVOTION TO
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
IN THIS 250TH YEAR OF AMERICA’S FREEDOM

For July 4th and throughout 2026

Hello to all my friends in Jesus across the USA!

Attached is a prayer I’ve been nurturing over the past few weeks regarding the upcoming celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

What I’ve tried to do with this written prayer is set an example of one way to seek and proclaim the redeeming greatness, glory, supremacy, and magnificence of the Lord Jesus Christ over our nation—acknowledging how desperately we need Him to deliver and radically renew America right now and into the future.

What if we unite—not only on July 4 but continuously in the days, weeks, months, and years to come—in such expressions of desire for His saving power to break through upon the Church and the nation?

What might the Spirit do in 2026 and throughout the coming years, everywhere across our beloved land, IF we prayed this type of prayer together all of 2026 and beyond?

Would the Father not go to work to awaken and revive his people throughout the Church so that we fully embrace and surrender ourselves to the headship and lordship of his Son?

Would He not begin to gather and unite us anew, from coast to coast, under the saving supremacy and transforming grace of our risen, reigning, redeeming Lord Jesus Christ?

Please join me today in offering this prayer as one way we can begin igniting such a flame. Ask your church to print it out to include in the bulletin so your whole congregation can pray it also and use it in family devotions.

Then, let us continue to hold nothing back in our prayers, as with one heart and voice, we seek God’s face for the advancement of Christ’s kingdom in America and beyond—especially at this opportune hour in the history of our nation.

A PRAYER FOR RENEWING OUR DEVOTION TO

For July 4th and throughout 2026

Father, at this 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, we pray your Spirit will compel all of us followers of Jesus to devote ourselves anew to the Apostle Paul’s binding truth in 1 Corinthians 3:11 (NASB1995):

“For no man can lay a foundation
other than the one which is laid,
which is Christ Jesus.”

We acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the one and only:

Son of God
Word of God
Son of Man
Savior of the World
Resurrection and Life
Chief Cornerstone
Messiah
Way to the Father
Great High Priest
Alpha and Omega
Wonderful Counselor
Immanuel
Prince of Peace
Lamb of God
True Vine
Good Shepherd
Refuge and Fortress
King of Kings and Lord of Lords

May the Holy Spirit awaken us to more and more of the greatness of Jesus and to all we have become united to Him! On Christ the Solid Rock we stand! He is our Supreme Head—our ALL in ALL! As He said in Matthew 28, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

Dear Father, please convince believers across our nation to unite with Paul in his “determined purpose,” written in Philippians 3:

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him—[that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly] … (v. 10, AMPC)

We exalt Christ, adore Him, love Him with all our hearts, thank Him, seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and proclaim Him as our Savior and Redeemer to everyone! Hallelujah, “It is finished” in Him!

We repent of all self, so we will truly join with what Paul professed in Galatians 2: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” We put on the full armor of Christ! He is our one and only abounding HOPE!

On this 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation, we honor Jesus for His protection, provision, love, grace, mercy, kindness, wisdom, and the immeasurable blessings we have enjoyed in our country for the past two and a half centuries.

Here and now, we completely subject ourselves and this nation to His sovereign, saving reign going forward—for His eternal praise!

We pray that multitudes of people across our nation will soon believe in Jesus, the Savior and the Light of the World, and that all spiritual darkness in our land will be dispelled by the fullness of His reign among us!

Shine, Jesus, shine!

We pray these things with urgency yet with great anticipation, in the name above every other name—JESUS. Amen!
