SCRIPTURE READING:
Philemon 1:3, 25

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST, in one Person, is Master, Savior and Messiah.

Dear Father, I love this introduction and conclusion of Philemon, where Paul prays that the limitless grace of our Lord (the Ruler and Governor of all His people) Jesus (our perfect and absolute Savior) Christ (the Messiah) would envelop Philemon, me and all people who have given our lives to Him. I rejoice that Your grace (and all of the Godhead) resides in the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Apostle John confirms in John 1:17, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Truly, His grace is perfect and all-sufficient, as the Lord told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9a, “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it [the thorn in his flesh] away from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” I want to know and live in all of the Lord Jesus Christ, especially in His grace. He is far more than sufficient for me. I pray that multitudes of His followers will increasingly seek to know the divine all-sufficiency of the Lord Jesus Christ, and will grow significantly as ministers of all He is to one another and to the world around us that desperately needs Him. I pray these things in the name of the Lord. Amen.
