SCRIPTURE READING:
Zechariah 4:7-9

“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”

Then the word of the Lord came to me: “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST brings to culmination all of God’s purposes for His people as well as for the whole universe.

Dear Father, It is very encouraging to know that one day all mountain-like obstacles will be leveled, so that Christ’s work in the Church and the whole world can be completed. I eagerly look forward to that day, when Christ the Capstone (high point, crowning achievement, culmination and pinnacle) will return to earth to receive the full acknowledgement of His greatness and victories (including the saving of Israel), to shouts of “God bless it! God bless it!” This culmination in Christ, the Capstone, reminds me of Revelation 7:9-10, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’” I rejoice that Jesus is the beginning, or Foundation-Stone, of the salvation of the Church, as well as the finishing, or Capstone, of the salvation of the Church. I fervently pray that You will awaken believers everywhere to all the Capstone is, so that we will give ourselves completely to living under His all-encompassing lordship. I give all these things to You in the name of the Messiah. Amen.
