SCRIPTURE READING:
John 4:39-42

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.

They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

SIGNIFICANCE:
The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the One Who is able to deliver all people from their sins.

Dear Father, What a glorious declaration when the people of Sychar said they “know this man really is the Savior of the World.” Thank You that by just being with Jesus two days, these people became convinced that He was and is the Christ, the Promised One, the Anointed One, Your beloved Son, the Messiah, the Savior for the Jews, for them, and for the whole world! My spirit is thrilled to think how His presence must have been captivatingly strong, healing, freeing, convicting, comforting, revealing, righteous, hope-building, joyful, refreshing and much more! I think of words by Philip Bliss in his wonderful song of celebration, “Hallelujah, What A Savior”: (verse 1) “Man of Sorrows! What a name. For the Son of God who came; Ruined sinners to reclaim. Hallelujah! What a Savior. (verse 3) Guilty, vile and helpless we; Spotless Lamb of God was He; Full atonement! Can it be: Hallelujah! What a Savior! (verse 5) When He comes, our glorious King. All His ransomed home to bring. Then anew His song we’ll sing: Hallelujah! What a Savior!” I pray that today You will use whatever means are necessary to convincingly reveal the Savior of the World to all people and that they will receive Him as those in Sychar did. In His awesome name I pray these things. Amen.
