I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Dear Father, Words cannot adequately express my delight that Jesus is returning to earth soon, and that for those of us who overcome the deceptions of this world, He will write Your name on us, as well as the name of Your city, the new Jerusalem, and His New Name! I am very anxious to know that exalted name that only You now know, and I imagine it will complement or summarize His spectacular names which have already been made known to us: Savior, Light of the World, Lord, King of kings, Bread of Life, Image of the Invisible God, Immanuel, Word, Author of Life, Messiah, and infinitely more. I marvel that Christ has earned the New Name by His humiliation as the Son of Man, and that it will one day confirm His pledge to believers that we will dwell with Him forever. Although I do not know what the New Name is yet, I praise Christ with all my being! I pray that I and all His followers will hear what the Spirit is saying to us now about the supremacy of Christ, and we will earnestly devote ourselves to worship-ing Him, loving Him, revering Him, yielding everything to Him, heartily speaking to one another about His worthiness, and praying for His rule and reign over us and His entire kingdom. I pray these things in the fullness of His New Name. Amen.
