A Light for Revelation to the Gentiles

Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you may now dismiss your servant in peace.
For my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and the glory of your people Israel.”
The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.
Dear Father, I continue rejoicing with Simeon that You allowed him to see the One Who would make salvation available to all people, and be a Light for Revelation to the Gentiles. I am deeply grateful that You did not send Jesus only to the Jewish people to reveal all You are. But, Hallelujah, You sent Your Son to also bring the full light (revelation) of Yourself to the Gentiles (all the people of the world), while He walked on the earth, now and forever! Oh, what glorious light Jesus revealed when He spoke and demonstrated Your limitless peace, righteousness, wisdom, justice, truth, grace, good-ness, mercy, love, power, majesty, compassion, and exceedingly more! I marvel with Joseph and Mary at all their Son (and Your Son) is, as the divine Light for Revelation to the Gentiles. Truly, He is the magnificent “glory of your people Israel.” I pray that You will open my eyes and the eyes of believers of all languages, tribes and nations (including the Jewish people), to see all that Jesus is, as the Savior of the world and as the Light for Revelation to the Gentiles. Please help us to see so much of His greatness that we will devote ourselves to knowing Him all we possibly can, honoring His holy name, submitting all our will to Him, and speaking with one another about the victorious hope we have in Him. I pray all these things in Jesus’ brilliant name. Amen.
